So in an effort to document some of what happens in this crazy busy, chaotic house of ours, here we go again. Elijah is 17 months now, Simon is 16 months, and Avi is 4.5. Avi just started kindergarten this last week, on August 9th. She is attending a wonderful montessori school a block away from our house! She loves it, and we are so glad to have found this school for her! She comes home so exhausted, and so excited about her day! So, since she is so tuckered out after her full day of playing and learning, she is back to taking a nap, every day after school. She is very into "sewing" lately. She gets Dev's shoelaces and will wrap them around the railing or drawer handles. I got her a weaving set that I can't wait to do together! We'll see how it goes!
Elijah and Simon are both talking more and more. Elijah is starting to say new words every day now. Yesterday he started saying "gook" for look, and is actually saying "book" very clearly. He says a lot lately! Of course the originals, mama, dada, aaaaah (for avi), nana, papa, tia, tio. Then there is geegee (for logan), Hellooooooooo, (my personal favorite! He singsongs it. So cute!) "mon" (for Simon), Puh, or Up, depending on the day, and how dyslexic he is feeling, down, "paba" (for pa abajo), "agua", for water, mas, and lots more! He is starting to repeat so much of what I say! So much fun!
Dev is in the last three weeks of the "intern academy" for the chandler fire department. We are hoping and praying that he makes it, and gets officially hired. It is a very grueling process, and only 12 out of 30 are chosen. Soooo, we're anxiously waiting to see what happens, and I'll post as soon as we know!!

Precious little firsts...
So yesterday was a big day for my little man! He was especially fussy and wanted to be held more than usual, couldn't stay asleep etc. I had my hand near his face while getting him out of his little Johnny Jump Up, and he wasted no time chomping down on it. This is not unusual, but what was unusual was what I felt. There was a little sharp surface cutting into my finger. I double checked, and sure enough, the pearly white of his first tooth was starting to peek out. Of course I started screaming and clapping at him! "You got your first tooth!" He, looking at me like I'm a crazy person, as usual. Avi, asking me, "What happened? Did he bite you?" Sighhhh. My little baby is growing too fast. At least now I know why he has been so whiny latley. So I used my moby wrap with him on my back so I could make dinner. Poor little guy was falling asleep on my back, so I nursed him in my Maya Wrap while I set the table and finished up. I swear, he nurses so often I would never get anything done without my carriers! Oh, before I forget... Avi's quote of the day: last night there was a wonderful monsoon storm here. I was up from feeding Elijah, and enjoying every thunderclash and lightning flash. A siren went by, and I saw Avi peeking out her window. I called her out, and she came out to me, eyes wide open, almost out of breath. "Mommy! I was hiding under my covers because of the thunders! There was a big BIG (her arms wide open) thunders and it shaked my window!!! (then in a very calm, matter of fact way) "But it didn't shake my blinds though... I have to go pee now..." (walks away.) I need a video camera on her at all times!

Finally, a place to write it all down....
Every day there is something my daughter says or does that makes me laugh and I think to myself, I should really be writing this down. Now joined by her little brother Elijah, there are many moments of hilarity in our humble home. Now I have a place to keep track of them, and share them with you! Today's post will be brief... seeing as it's 1:30 and I haven't slept yet. Today, as Dev put Avi to bed, making sure not to shut her door all the way, which will result in tears and screaming, Avi says,"Daddy!" "What is it Avi?" "Can you shut the door more please? I don't want to see anyone right now." She's three.... going on thirty. More to come soon...
